Nintendo has just announced (for the first time formally) that a new Pikmin is on the way.
During a developer roundtable at E3 2008, Nintendo creative mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed for the first time that Nintendo is indeed bringing back the beloved GameCube franchise, and we can only assume it's going to be for Wii.
Details on the game are sparse right now, but Miyamoto did casually mention "We're making Pikmin" during the roundtable presentation. He hinted earlier that a new Pikmin could be on the way – both in previous conferences and in our recent interview with him – but now it's officially official. Pikmin is making a return.
SWEET MERCIFUL GOD I CAN'T WAIT!!! i have a special place in my heart for captain olimar and those cute little bastards. of course, anyone who knows e3 will tell you that all the big info comes out before and/or after the event is over. like nintendo announced a new motion device...before their media event. its going to be fun to see how this game will use the motion sensors. im sure they've got something bad ass up their sleevs.

If this is true then that's good. Pikmin 1 was good, never played Pikmin 2. Let's hope it's true cos we really need some more hardcore games coming out. Nintendo- Nobody wants Wii Music, at least not the hardcore people, and the casual people don't watch E3. Why did you end your press conference with people playing it with fake enthusiasm?
Just wondering, did anyone actually think Olimar was a good addition to Brawl?
Lastly do you think they'll upload video from their press conference to the Nintendo Channel?
