Activision announced today during an annual financial call that it will be retooling the now decade old Tony Hawk series. Few details were given other then the next game will deliver a new interactive approach to skateboarding through the use of a brand new gameplay mechanic.

This is no doubt in response to Tony Hawk losing significant ground in the skateboarding arena to Electronic Arts' skate franchise.

Your guess is as good as ours as to what the new mechanic will hold.

i miss this series. I DEMAND A GOOD TONY HAWK GAME NOW!! how about a rehash of the originals. do it like nintendo is doing for pikmin, metroid prime and mario tennis. redo them and putin new controls. id play that all day
