from 1up.com:
Jeff Gardiner, lead producer of Fallout 3 downloadable content at Bethesda, has given a more detailed look at what to expect from "Operation Anchorage," the first DLC planned for release in January. In an interview with IGN, Gardiner says that the new pack will add about 4-5 hours of gameplay for 800 MS Points ($10 USD). Since this is a simulated battle, all of the player's weapons and medicine will be taken away during the mission, and the player will have to make do with what the scenario provides. The limitations make the player helpless, though, as Gardiner also promises "strike teams under the player's command and unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets."
After downloading it, the new mission will be available in the Quests menu and a new marker will be added to the map anytime after the player exits the Vault. The simulation allows Bethesda to include a vastly different snowy landscape, along with letting players toy with the new weapons and armor in the main game. The pack will also include new Achievements and a new perk named "Covert Ops," though details on the perk haven't been disclosed. For those waiting on a bump to the level cap, that will be coming in March with the third set of downloadable content, "Broken Steel."
With three packs already announced and more surely on the way, Fallout 3 is promising plenty of extended life for a game that's vast in the first place. If the mission does last the promised 5 hours, we probably won't be seeing anyone complain to Bethesda about lack of substance in their DLC like fans did last time.
