Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and producer TT Games just announced LegoBattles for Nintendo DS. Developed by Hellbent Games, Lego Battles will see a summer 2009 release in United Kingdom.

In Lego Battles, players build and battle Lego armies and bases, mixing and matching units to create an elite squad. Soldiers include pirates, wizards, knights, ninjas, dragons and more. Battles take place in Lego themed environments that include castles, pirate ships and space. Wireless DS multi-card play is also planned.

“LegoBattles offers players the action-packed and humor-filled gameplay that make Lego games great, along with the added bonus of linked multiplayer battles on DS,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “We are excited to introduce a new Lego videogame experience to fans and young gamers and look forward to expanding upon the beloved toy lines.”

There is no official word regarding LegoBattles releasing outside the UK, but here in the US, we would be pretty excited to ambush a Lega pirate ship with ninjas
